Glenn Marcella is a graduate of the University of Connecticut and a resident of West Hartford, Connecticut where he lives and is inspired every day by his greatest love -- his three daughters. Marcella is a former exercise researcher and nearly 20 year veteran of the fitness training business. He started The Center Studio in 2003 to offer the community a refreshing alternative to what is currently offered at the big-box health clubs. He is known to be an innovative instructor, using unconventional methods to produce dramatic, real-life results. He jokes that "his chronic immaturity and self-diagnosed ADD" have led him to this path.
"I've seen it with my clients for years. While training in a child-inspired way, where the exercises are dynamic, interesting, challenging and yes, FUN, you will produce a healthier, fitter and happier client. It really works." Marcella has applied the methods he has used with his adult clients to a youth market. He started the first “Boot Camps” for kids in the area using athletic movements, old-fashioned games and an unwavering commitment to fun to motivate kids to move with enthusiasm.
Rarely following a conventional path, Marcella has applied the same creativity to his community activism. Through his SPIN for the Cure cycling marathons, Hula Hoop exhibitions and his Block Party Boot Camp live demonstrations, he has raised tens of thousands of dollars for breast cancer and pediatric cancer research.
Miriam Nelson PhD. best selling author of Strong Women Stay Young and Strong Women, Strong Bones calls Mr. Marcella "an excellent trainer . . . he is great at what he does".
